The role of post-forging heat treatment of wuxi forgings steel bearing roller
In general, the production process of forging steel supporting roll includes three heat treatment procedures, namely, pre-heat treatment before forging heat treatment, differential heat treatment and final heat treatment. In some cases, the preparatory heat treatment process prior to differential heat treatment may be cancelled and only two heat treatments may be performed.
The following is the role of post-forging heat treatment of forgings:
1. Refine grain. Due to the different forging deformation, non-uniformity and recrystallization degree of the supporting roll of large forgings, the rough forgings may have 1-2 levels of coarse grains and mixed grains, which must be recrystallized and refined after forging heat treatment.
2. Adjust the structure to eliminate reticular carbide. For this kind of large cross-section support roller, relying on normalizing and rapid cooling can only be improved to a certain extent, it is difficult to completely eliminate the network carbide.
3. Prevent white spots. Another problem that must be solved in post - forging heat treatment is to prevent the formation of white spot defects. The mechanism of white spot and hydrogen embrittlement is the result of combined action of stress and hydrogen.
4. Meet the hardness of roll neck. For some supporting rollers with a neck-hardness requirement of 30-40, the preparatory heat treatment process before differential temperature quenching has been cancelled, and the task of adjusting the performance of preparatory heat treatment and the neck-hardness of rollers has been left to the post-forging heat treatment, thus increasing the burden and function of post-forging heat treatment.
This type of backup roll cannot undertake annealing heat treatment after forging, but positive and tempering treatment, and tempering temperature limit in 600-660 ℃. The mechanical properties of the blank after normalizing and tempering can meet the performance requirements of most supporting rollers.
